Scharendijke
Scharendijke is a centre for water sports enthusiasts! Located on the Brouwersdam and a mere stone’s throw from Grevelingenmeer, Scharendijke is the ideal spot for lovers of surfing, sailing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) and diving. Children can also enjoy themselves here, since there is a small aqua park in Grevelingenmeer.

The village of Scharendijke is a household name amongst water sports enthusiasts. Diving sites on Grevelingenmeer which are popular with divers include: Het Koepeltje, Scharendijke marina and Nieuwe Kerkweg. Would you like to explore some of the underwater wrecks under the expert guidance of an instructor? This is possible at the Scharendijke or De Grevelingen diving centres.
Beachclub Perry’s, situated at the well-known Brouwersdam, rents out SUP boards and kayaks during the summer. There’s more than enough to see and do on the water!
Brouwersdam
Scharendijke is in the proximity of Brouwersdam. In addition to all sorts of water sports, there are various beach pavilions here, including Beachclub Perry’s and Strandclub Zee. From here you can enjoy wonderful views across the water. Brouwersdam forms a popular backdrop for festivals, such as Concert at Sea and Beachboom.

Sights and attractions
Fancy enjoying a magnificent view over Grevelingenmeer? If you walk along the dyke in Scharendijke, at a certain point you arrive at the ‘hidden’ viewpoint of Het Koepeltje. Originally, this was a sheltered observation post, which was used during the First World War. Behind Het Koepeltje is a small beach with a grassy patch and a water playground in Grevelingenmeer.
Events
Various events take place in Scharendijke and surroundings. These include Straô, an equestrian event that can only be seen in a number of villages in Schouwen.
