Noord-Beveland, situated between the North Sea, National Park Oosterschelde and Veerse Meer, really does have the feel of an island. On the boundary between sea and land, nature is never far away. Until 1960, Noord-Beveland could only be reached by boat. Nowadays, there are excellent connections with the mainland via impressive engineering structures, such as the Zeelandbrug (bridge) and the Oosterscheldekering (storm surge barrier). The views across the water to distant lands mean that there is still an island-feel about Noord-Beveland. Enjoy the space and the peace of the place.
Stunning countryside
In Noord-Beveland you can enjoy some bracing winds on the beach, or take a woodland walk through one of its nature reserves. All the best places can be discovered on foot or by bike. The marshland behind the main dyke has a natural beauty all of its own. There are a number of waymarked hiking trails in Noord-Beveland, but exploring for yourself is also an option.
